Dynamical Symmetry Breaking with Mirror Fermions
نویسنده
چکیده
Mirror fermions with masses around the weak scale could break dynamically the electro-weak symmetry if they were coupled with a new strong interaction. The purpose of this talk is to show what sort of dynamics are needed in order to render such theories phenomenologically viable.

New Physics with Mirror Particles
The introduction of mirror fermions with masses between the weak scale and 1 TeV could offer a dynamical origin to the standard-model electro-weak symmetry breaking mechanism. The purpose of this work is to study the dynamics needed in order to render models with such a fermion content phenomenologically acceptable. PACS codes: 12.10.Dm, 12.60.-i, 12.60.Cn, 12.90.+b
متن کاملMass generation and the dynamical role of the Katoptron Group
Heavy mirror fermions along with a new strong gauge interaction capable of breaking the electroweak gauge symmetry dynamically were recently introduced under the name of katoptrons. Their main function is to provide a viable alternative to the Standard-Model Higgs sector. In such a framework, ordinary fermions acquire masses after the breaking of the strong katoptron group which allows mixing w...
متن کاملPhenomenology of Mirror Fermions in the Littlest Higgs Model with T-Parity
Little Higgs models are an interesting alternative to explain electroweak symmetry breaking without fine-tuning. Supplemented with a discrete symmetry (T-parity) constraints from electroweak precision data are naturally evaded and also a viable dark matter candidate is obtained. T-parity implies the existence of new (mirror) fermions in addition to the heavy gauge bosons of the little Higgs mod...
متن کاملMirror Families in Electro-weak Symmetry Breaking
We study symmetry breaking in a left-right symmetric extension of the Standard Model with mirror fermions, one for each Standard-Model fermion. The new particles assist a top-quark condensate in breaking electro-weak symmetry. Half of the fermions acquire electro-weak-invariant masses at around 500 GeV and would be probably accessible at future high-energy experiments like LHC or NLC. The contr...
متن کاملMirror fermions and the hierarchy problem
The introduction of strongly-interacting mirror fermions with masses between the weak scale and 1 TeV could offer a viable alternative to the Higgs mechanism. The framework provided solves the hierarchy problem naturally and predicts a rich phenomenology for present and future experiments. Even though present electroweak precision measurements are more or less consistent with the standard-model...
